I got a car rental in Tenerife Airport (Grand Canaria). I had alredy payed the entire amount through the third party broker (Expedia).
Gold Car was trying to convince me to pay a lot more to get a full endurance. Besides really rude staff, when they disappointment with milking me with ugly promotions they came up with a new method to charge. The charged 35 euros because of young drivers. Although in many car rental companies under age of 25 is considered as young driver, they have an additional condition that you should have you license for more than 5 years!
even if you are above 90 years old e.g. They was no way to got the car unless you payed the extra cost. This is ridiculous cause normally the insurance companies come up with such excuses to milk the customers but GoldCar has found this way to do the job for them. Moreover when I was there, there were 3 other customers which had similar issues although they have all booked a full insurance.
Having talked to them their situations were lot worst cause Gold Car was asking for a lot more money to get the full insurance.
I will never book another car with them. Not recommended at all.
